Prevention with the Hepatitis B vaccine
The prevention section currently links to a WHO vaccinate advise which is based on 10+ year old references. However in the meantime evidence is mounting that the Hepatitis B vaccine might not be safe based on latest science, for instance http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-500690_162-5369814.html or http://www.greenmedinfo.com/anti-therapeutic-action/vaccination-hepatitis-b Prokaryotes (talk) 16:24, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
- The issues mentioned in these sources are not for this article. Please discuss them on the Hepatitis B vaccine articles talk page. I suggest you find sources unrelated to Andrew Wakefield, a proven fraud, and make sure your medical sources (reviews, not primary research) are up to par as far as WP:MEDRS goes. Then discuss it there. -- Brangifer (talk) 05:19, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
- I disagree. The sources at http://www.greenmedinfo.com/anti-therapeutic-action/vaccination-hepatitis-b are in part about hepatitis causing reactions, which are cited with pubMed.gov publication and WP:MEDRS states "The Abridged Index Medicus provides a list of 114 selected "core clinical journals" (this subset of the medical literature can be searched in PubMed using a 'journal categories' filter)", therefore i can not agree with your assertion that the source is not on par with MEDRS or what you try to establish with the mention of Andrew Wakefield - which is unrelated. THough i could link all these studies separately but thought the greenmedinfo page serves as a good overview. Preventive treatment for HC should mention the HVB vaccine and shortly possible adverse effects. Further reading could then be established on the related wikipedia page as you suggested Prokaryotes (talk) 07:30, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
