Nitrogen fixation

Issue resolved as Beijerinck identified azotobacter chroococcum as active species doing the fixation that Hellriegel produced with infusion. — Rgdboer (talk) 02:50, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It seems there is some confusion in the specifics of what was discovered by whom. This seems to indicate that the original discovery about legumes fixing nitrogen was by Jean-Baptiste Boussingault but that Hellriegel and Wilfarth later discovered what the process was.
