Drugs

[edit]

An article about Nogales isn't complete without a discussion of drugs: heroin, cocaine, and pot. Many American tourists come to this border town for nothing else, and the local population accommodates them. Consequently, many Americans get busted attempting to smuggle their goods back into the US.

'nogales as a war zone'

[edit]

this has totally got to go. neutrality completely lacking, as well as sources. 'a body found every day'? come on, guys. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.150.200.186 (talk) 12:58, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody with Wiki expertise please flag this section for removal. I would myself, but I am rather new to this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.169.112.196 (talk) 01:52, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agriculture

[edit]

I think this needs a citation (I'm new at this):

"It is estimated that over 80 percent of Americas produce passes through Nogales each year." KyleHis2 (talk) 22:25, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hey. Thanks for using the talkpage. If you cannot find a citation in the article for the information give, you can remove it (just make sure to explain in the edit summary below). In other instances when the information is not really a big deal, you can add a citation request [Example: [citation needed] ] next to it and wait for the one who wrote it to back it up. Just make sure to go back and remove it altogether in a few days if the request is unattended. ComputerJA () 01:30, 15 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
While I couldn't find a citation for this line, I found other statistics. I reverted my changes when I realized my sources were for Nogales, AZ, but I then realized US-Mexico land trade that passes through Nogales, AZ almost certainly also passes through Nogales, Sonora, since they are right next to each other across the border, so I reverted the reversion, which I apologize for. If this is unconvincing, please feel free to correct or find new sources. Ahkei (talk) 03:33, 31 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
