Publication dates of novels[edit]

The publication dates of the novels here do not all correspond with those on the corresponding French Wikipedia page about Bazin. I have no idea which is correct, but some changes are required on one or other of the pages. Bandekafsh (talk) 13:30, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Punctuation[edit]

For some reason, the punctuation section displays another author's mark; it openly states it's the other author's mark and that Hervé's was different, but for some reason doesn't just display the relevant mark. Why?? Should this be fixed? Hppavilion1 (talk) 10:31, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Irony Point[edit]

The "Irony Point" (or "point d' ironie") in the section on Bazin's punctuation is not the one he invented, but rather the one invented by Brahm about 67 years earlier. The article makes note of this, and explains what Bazin's looks like, but I'm unclear why Brahm's point is in the article at all- it seems like it'd almost be better to have no image at all than one unrelated to the article's subject, and it should be fairly trivial to draw up an example of the correct one using the description. orthography[edit]

Regarding l’ortografiǝ lojikǝ, I've added a table of the letters (and the three letterlike marks), which table I wrote myself from the letters, names, and sound values given in Plumons l'oiseau. For the IPA and the in-orthography names, I looked up Wiktionary pronunciations of Bazin's French. The table design, I copied from French_orthography#Alphabet. —

The edition I used claims to be «Bazin, Hervé (1966), Plumons l'oiseau, Paris (France): Éditions Bernard Grasset», just like the two citations already in the article. But it is in fact the Amazon Kindle edition as of 8 May 2021, which differs slightly from the 1966 print edition, presumably due to having been run through an OCR system not equipped to handle technical notation. Also, since it's digital, I can't determine the proper page numbers. —

Rationale for including this table in Wikipedia: The orthography is notable enough to mention (as see e.g. the section header). Given that, I think it's also appropriate to give a summary, as the article already did for the punctuation. And while the table content is freely checkable with the book, none of the article's current online sources document the orthography, meaning we can't just link out for it.

I've acquired a print copy of Plumons l'oiseau and had it professionally scanned, so I can check any details or upload any tables or illustrations that seem important or relevant. Octavo (talk) 15:12, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
