Untitled[edit]

Actually the town was already called Herzogenrath in 1282, before it came into the hands of the duke of Brabant (1288). It was called after the duke of Limburg, who apparently held the castle at that time. after the battle of Woeringen (1288) Brabant took control over the duchy of Limburg and it's dependancies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.120.235.124 (talk) 15:07, 29 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
