People On Board[edit]

The number, stated on here, of people on board, are way off. The 727-100 is not capable of holding 178 people. Either it is not a 721, or the numbers are overly exaggerated. RokinRyan (talk)

It is possible that there are ground casualties too, which would swell the number. Mjroots (talk) 07:31, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is plausible. However, Kisangani's airport is surrounded by thick forest. An aerial view can be seen here--> [1]. Scroll to the bottom of the page for a map of the area. RokinRyan (talk) 23:00, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

9Q-COP[edit]

I can find literally no information about 9Q-COP online. For such a large A/C, I'm surprised about this. I've tried several databases, anyone know anything about it other than the reg and c/n? wackywace 18:43, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

18933 appears to have been a VIP aircraft with winglets in a previous life [2], seem strange to modify it back to a passenger configuration. MilborneOne (talk) 18:58, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It is also possible that it wasnt the VIP 727 but a standard passenger MD-82 of which they operate four have we a reliable source for the 727 or is it a guess?.MilborneOne (talk) 19:05, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The ABCD list has a full listing of all registrations carried by this aircraft. It was used as a ref, but got replaced. Mjroots (talk) 07:28, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Second Reference[edit]

I think the second reference should be: http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Boeing/727/18323,9Q-COP-Hewa-Bora-Airways.php The link now showed in this page is S9-ROI. That plane is still alive~ 162.105.153.79 (talk) 08:13, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I find that website extremely unreliable (no offense to the website). The aircraft was bought from Executive Jet Service, last year. For a more accurate look at the history of 9Q-COP, check this page--> [3]. RokinRyan (talk) 23:11, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suitability Of Photograph[edit]

The caption for the photograph in the article is "A Hewa Bora Airways Boeing 727, similar to the one that crashed at Kinshasa International Airport", and while the photo may well be a 727 from the same airline, it is very clearly a freighter, perhaps giving the impression that the incident aircraft was also a freighter. This may alter how the incident is perceived by people skimming the article; 100+ people on a scheduled passenger flight is a very different state of affairs to the implied and most abnormal case of 100+ people crammed into a freighter. 85.210.115.181 (talk) 02:57, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location of the crash[edit]

The article seems to give the impression that the crash occurred at Bangoka Airport in Kisangani. However, the caption underneath the picture reads "A Hewa Bora...similar to the one that crashed at N'Djili Airport." N'Djili Airport is in Kinshasa, and if I am not mistaken it was not the location of the incident. Could someone please change the caption to reflect this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.130.219.171 (talk) 01:59, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
