Balder and Lune Valleys[edit]

Moved from article Note: this is incorrect. The Balder and Lune Valleys are in Teesdale and nowhere near the Allendale Railway which is never more than a few miles South of the river Tyne. (added by IP 86.167.89.14) [1]

I've moved this editor opinion from the article to talk page. I've checked Allen and he does mention two viaducts over the Balder and Lune streams, and these are clearly not valleys in Teesdale. I would guess that these are different valleys with the same name, and will investigate. Until then, I've tagged the article as needing clarification. I've removed the text " and required a 100-foot (30 m) high nine-arch viaduct to cross the Balder Valley and a 60-foot (18 m) high five-arch viaduct to cross the Lune Valley.", as I think Allen as got confused here. I can't find any references to large viaducts on this railway. The Middleton-in-Tees line crossed rivers called Balder and Lune, and I think Allen has mixed up the two lines.
