Questions re: HIT and cDNA, etc

[edit]

Has anyone done a cDNA study on hibernating animals to see which proteins are differentially expressed ?

Has anyone sequenced the gene(s) responsible for HIT ?

Has anyone done a knockout, knockin or siRNA experiment on hibernators ?

Have the receptors for HIT been identified ?

Have the receptors for HIT been sequenced ?

Are these receptors present in non-hibernators ?

What happens if these receptors are expressed or upregulated in non-hibernators ?

Thanks! Pls let me know if you know or find out!!!

p.s. have they also done any differential fMRIs or PET scans on the brains of hibernating animals (in comparison with when they are not hibernating) ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.45.58.46 (talk) 16:21, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

this is interesting, but not much of an article. shouldn't it be a section within the larger hibernation page? I don't know how to suggest a merge. I'll see if I can figure the merger out. --Paddling bear (talk) 17:53, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
