Untitled

Written like an advert? Hardly, it just lists the specs and operating requirements/compatibility list, which is exactly what should be listed in non-partisan review of open source software.

Rolling back changes

1 Official version is "067". ; Citation neededs were removed without citations: original research not resolved. ; "the custom license" should be "the custom license it was under", but for copy editing's sake, the original wording was more appropriate

2 The edits to the description means the description is now incomplete and does not sufficiently describes the emulator. ; Edit to bottom of MSU1 section is inappropriate for that section, and byuu does not have specific plans for dumping cartridges of a region outside the US.

3 bsnes is not just open source: it is in fact free software.

4 This is a useful statement but is original research: I will keep it but with a Citation needed tag.

5 Same as 4

6 This is a useful statement but should be rewritten.

7 Notable but original research: kept, with a Citation needed tag

8 I would prefer specifics, e.g. the required clock speed with certain processors on certain operating systems to play the title screen of SMW2: Yoshi's Island at full speed. But that's just me :P

9 This section is extraneous and makes the description incomplete.

10 Thank you. My thoughts though are that until the author (byuu) publishes his information through his own words on a static web page, almost all of the article will be original research. I think that the article is mildly encyclopedic but what it covers is not yet notable. I think only with time will the article be reliable enough for Wikipedia.

11 If you are correct, your statement is notable but original research: I will keep it with a Citation needed tag. ; And about your further edit: the projects are related to bsnes.

12 Your edit was contributive but I am nevertheless rolling back the original description and removing the Project aims section.

13 Oh, thanks

14 I don't believe your comment is notable alone, especially not in its own section, and when byuu does not develop it. I am however adding it to the libsnes section, with a notice that his development commenced before libsnes was implemented.

15 You're right

16 I like where you placed the section (right before libsnes, just as it chronically happened)

17 Oh shaddap :P

This is not the place for byuu's projects

If you think MSU1 and BSV are so important that they merit inclusion in Wikipedia, you should create new articles for them, where they may survive or perish on their own merit. BSV is not even a technology used in bsnes. While you may be enthusiastic about byuu and his projects, this is the bsnes article and not the byuu article.

Secondly, ports do not demand entire sections of an article unless there was some massive controversy documented in many published sources whereby the port itself was rendered a newsworthy event.

Please keep Wikipedia clean. This page was becoming longer than the pages on many of the CPU technologies that bsnes emulates. The muramasa (talk) 04:12, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Notability

Can anyone link to a scan of the webuser and gamelabo articles? I want to see how significant the coverage is. Could not locate on the webuser website. Marasmusine (talk) 08:16, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
