Reception

[edit]

Pending having enough time to deal with them, here's a place to park reviews from reliable sources of HSD, for distilling into prose:

Feel free to add your own. —Quasirandom (talk) 21:16, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comics Worth Reading has also reviewed and recommended several later volumes -- links at the bottom of the v1 review. —Quasirandom (talk) 21:47, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not reliable, but I'm utterly charmed to see that HSD is getting reviewed by teen readers in the UK. —Quasirandom (talk) 22:06, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There -- updated the list, striking out reviews already incorporated into the article. Time to watch for more as the last six volumes come out. —Quasirandom (talk) 22:04, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And ANN has finally noticed the series, with volume 8. Yay. —Quasirandom (talk) 20:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Setting

[edit]

The jawiki article says the series is set in Sapporo. Since I don't see a graceful way to add this information at the moment, I'll mention it here, in the hopes that when the Plot gets expanded beyond something that reads like an advertising blurb, we can include it. —Quasirandom (talk) 15:18, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WAAAAY TOO MUCH INFO

[edit]

hey wasup peoples i am writing (typing?) to say that i think the person who wrote the article for high school Debut was way too informative. so the person was like spoiling it so yeah that is all i have to say bye bye 98.168.167.148 (talk) 23:40, 22 December 2008 (UTC)Kyra (Prounouced K-ear-ah)[reply]

That's because Wikipedia has spoilers. That's what encyclopedias do, cover the whole work, or else they'd be useless for homework. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:22, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Things to do next

[edit]

As I see it, the next priorities in editing this article are:

  • Edit the character descriptions down, with an eye to:
    • sourcing as much as possible to third-party reviews and the series itself, and
    • summarizing the character/personality, not their biography/history.
  • Edit the plot summary so it doesn't read like a marketing summary, carrying it through to the end of the series.
  • Fill out the list of volumes with cover characters and brief summaries by volume.

All while working within the manual of style guidelines. —Quasirandom (talk) 22:03, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

One-Shot sequel

[edit]

This month, the magazine that published HSD showed a one shot sequel, "Enren Debut". Is that 52 chapters, 1 sequel? 69.180.125.8 (talk) 01:20, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yup. 52 for the main story, a single chapter sequel. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:29, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I take that back -- it's actually two sequel chapters now. —Quasirandom (talk) 20:02, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
She was talking about drafting a sequel, as in a serial in Volume 13, note 2...--Hitsuji Kinno (talk) 02:16, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The official English translation of that is a bit coy -- coy enough you can't tell if she's talking about a sequel or another series. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:12, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

wow nice work and I love it it so cute -User:CustomCustom (User talk:CustomCustom) 9:27, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
