I think this may be up for deletion

This was posted by an anonymous user, who never came back to work on it. It has almost zero content, and to be honest, I'm not sure I see a growth area. If the matter is really important, we can incorporate it as a paragraph in the main gps article. Any thoughts before I tag it for deletion? - Davandron | Talk 02:12, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GPS is already beyond all bounds of Wikipedia:Article size; it would be pleasant to find a related detail article for a merger target. Perhaps we can instead find small articles about specific HS products or methods, to merge into here. Jim.henderson (talk) 14:42, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The problem in general is that there really isn't a specific thing that is known as "High Sensitivity GPS". I was actually inclined to just nominate this article for deletion, but took the charitable view that the information in it might be useful somewhere else. siafu (talk) 19:25, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It was indeed useful to me a couple years ago as a Wikigeophotographer when I wondered whether I might get a GPS camera that works in difficult urban locations. Pretty much it told me not to waste effort looking for it in the next few years, as consumer cameras don't and won't use the mightiest chips. That's the main reason it's on my watchlist. Looking around at articles about improving GPS, I only see ones that discuss how to use new ground signals and other new infrastructure, whilst this article is about improving the receiver itself. I too would rather see more detailed coverage of receiver architecture and technology. However, this High Sensitivity article has been in sorry condition for years. Meanwhile the "Device" article has been tolerably good as far as it goes, without going far enough to make me and presumably you happy. Nobody who claims to understand the topic has volunteered to improve either article. So, if we don't get what we want this month or next, seems to me it isn't going to happen anytime soon and no use keeping a detail article that doesn't handle details.
