A lot of this information comes from other pages, with slight editing. I've just added it to get the section going, really. In particular, the list of public and private universities comes from the list of Spanish universities page (Lista de universidades de España) in the Spanish version of wikipedia - this is in the process of being transferred into la Categoría:Universidades de España, so I'm not sure if it's up-to-date. The introduction does not make much sense to me, as the forming of the Spanish Empire began in the late 15th Century, the older universities (13th Century) thus greatly predating the Empire. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.49.34.213 (talk) 20:32, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Endogamy observation

[edit]

Please do not delete the endogamy section. We all know it is true.

Indeed, but not only in Spain, but almost in every country in the world...

vocational training

[edit]

NOW, THE VOCATIONAL STUDIES CARRIED OUT IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS CALLED FORMACION PROFESIONAL DE GRADO SUPERIOR, IS ALSO CONSIDERED HIGHER EDUCATION. THIS ARTICLE DOES NOT DEAL WITH THA FACT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.74.163.240 (talk) 06:38, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Open Universit of Catalonia

[edit]

This university was mislabeled as private. Though partially funded with private funds, it's a public university, since it belongs to a public entity, the FUOC - you can check it out in the UOC page and the wikipedias in other languages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:720:1014:F318:F842:794E:A951:E73A (talk) 15:25, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

"Professors and students rarely attended classes, degrees were awarded with less frequency and their prestige receded". Where is the reference for this affirmation? this is just an opinion without encyclopedic value --Satyavakya (talk) 14:23, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
