Revamp of the Hilton College page[edit]

Hello to anybody wishing to edit this page! My name is Matt and I have undertaken a major effort to revamp the page of this school, which is close to my heart. Please if anybody is willing to help feel free. I need help weeding out grammatical and spelling errors (especially Americanised words [color, center, Americanized]). I also need to restructure the page to make it more friendly to the reader. I have done a lot since Wednesday but I still have a lot to do. Regards Mattpbarry (talk) 17:45, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed rating to C, The article is substantial, but is still missing important content or contains much irrelevant material. The article should have some references to reliable sources, but may still have significant problems or require substantial cleanup.
Some sections under sport and culture is still totally empty, there are lots of missing references, specifically for specific clains such ass Hilton is the most expensive school in South Africa. --NJR_ZA (talk) 21:32, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Great amount of WP:SCHOOLCRUFT[edit]

I have removed excessive detail that is not notable and unencyclopaedic. This is not an advert for the school, nor a prospectus. The school history also needs to be streamlined, but I do not have the knowledge on what is notable and what is not. Feel free to add notable information about the schools academics such as subjects offered and notable achievements, as well as sports and cultural activities - this should not be done for every activity though, only when an achievement justifies mention in the main body of sport. Notable details of clubs can be readded as per Wikiproject guidelines, but please consider what details are encyclopaedic. - Jacobmacmillan (talk) 12:46, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability tag[edit]

I've removed the notability tag from this article. Hilton is (and has been for years) the most exclusive and expensive school in South Africa, so the tag is clearly inappropriate. Courtesy ping @Adamant1: --DSQ (talk) 17:41, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. I see that you added a few sources. Which seems adequate. While I think they could still be improved, it's not enough to warrant the notability tag anymore. --Adamant1 (talk) 19:46, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Uh huh. Re: your comment before the swift reversion, → diff, I am aware of what constitutes notability - but what checks did you do before you tagged this specific article? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "keep at all costs" type of person but, to be frank, it's not dissimilar to querying the notability of Winchester College or Eton. :) --DSQ (talk) 09:02, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly, I don't really remember. I'm sure I had a good reason at the time though. Although, I've had a pretty chaotic couple of days on Wikipedia. So, who knows. No harm, no foul right? --Adamant1 (talk) 09:09, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try and improve it, I just have to find the time to do it properly! No harm, no foul. :) --DSQ (talk) 10:01, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
