Feedback for Wikipedia assignment
[edit]I'm a student at WashU, and as part of the Behavioral Ecology 2024 Wiki Education Assignment, I wanted to give you some feedback on the Wikipedia page. I've sent in a Google document with edits regarding this article for the Wiki assignment, but overall, I liked your section headers but I would have wanted to see a bit more information included in them. Additionally, with regards to the information, there was some sections that were more captivating because they told more of a story, while others felt more like fact listing, so I would also gear more towards story telling to make it more engaging for the reader. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikakipnisuser (talk • contribs) 16:13, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

"Convergent lady beetles converging"
[edit]We can never change this image caption. It is far too amusing.

Possible non-free content use
[edit]I already removed from problematic content from the Habitat section. However, the sections on Parental care and Behavior also need to be combed through and compared to the sources. I'm noting the issue in case someone else begins editing this before I finish going over things.
The non-free usage template has been added to the article. OIM20 (talk) 02:25, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
- I've gone through the article and I believe I have removed or reworded all content that too closely paralleled the cited source. Content attributed to the wrong source was either removed or attributed to the correct source of those listed. Possible inclusion of non-free content flag has been removed from article. Peer Review
[edit]There was some confusing language/sentence structures that I fixed throughout the article. I also renamed the “Biology” section to be the “Diet” section as that seems to describe the section information more precisely. I moved the last sentence “During diapause… actively engage in flight” to the Life Cycle section where you talk about diapause to bring the information together more concretely. Moved the sentence about “Larvae generally move…” up into the Life Cycle section as well. The rest of the page seems well-written and direct. I would just recommend adding more into each section since they seem a bit short. Otherwise, well-done! Hahelen (talk) 00:01, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
Peer review
[edit]Hello, I am adding a peer review to your article for the Wikipedia Assignment 6. Overall, I think the article is generally well-written and easy to follow. I made a few edits to the page. My primary edit was extending the lead section of the article. Previously, the lead section was only a few sentences long, so I highlighted some of the important information that is mentioned later on in the lead section. I also noticed a couple of facts that were stated without appropriate citations. I added citations where I could find them or added a "citation needed" marker if I could not find them. Additionally, in the "Life cycle" section, it previously said that the female beetles lay 200-300 eggs, but the reported citation mentions that they can lay up 1000 eggs, so I fixed this as well. Overall, great job! Angelina2024 (talk) 22:00, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
