Historicity of Dome of the Rock mosaic?[edit]

It would be nice to have a precise text regarding the age dome of the rock mosaic, because some people say it is an earliest copy of the koran text, and some don't, which is believed to have been added 250-500 years after the Mohammad. Only the original inscription around the base is attributed to the foundation period, rather than the mosaic and guildings. Please provide facts regarding age, especially in support of the factual age of the oldest copy of koranic text which shouldn't vary by 250 years.
