History of LGBT characters in animation: 2020sHistory of LGBT animation: 2020s – This new name could broaden the page's focus, allowing it to cover animated films and animated series on one page, rather than just sticking to animated series. Rather than doing this manually, I wanted to have a discussion about this proposed name. Comments are welcome! • Oppose. The proposed title implies animation by LGBT people rather than about LGBT people, which is actually narrowing the focus. -- Necrothesp (talk) 10:19, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Does Amphibia need to be included?[edit]

I'm just curious about it… EverestMachine 4001 (talk) 06:47, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. I know that there is an entry for Amphibia on the List of animated series with LGBT characters: 2015–2019, which says:

Ally and Jess are two girls who collectively run the internet video channel "IT Gals".[1] In the text of their video descriptions, the pair describe themselves as "just two girlfriends", qualified with an LGBT pride flag emoji.[2][3] After the characters’ debut, lead color designer Andy Garner-Flexner gave further confirmation that the two were in a romantic relationship.[4] It was additionally stated that Ally's color palette was based on the pansexual pride flag, while Jess' was based on the bisexual pride flag.[4][5]

While on the one hand, I wouldn't mind this being added in, this section is mostly based on tweets, and one other source... so I wish there were better sources, so I'm going to hold off until some better sources can be found.--Historyday01 (talk) 14:43, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Finally added in something about Amphibia: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=History_of_LGBT_characters_in_animation%3A_2020s&type=revision&diff=1088180109&oldid=1088176835. Yay! I haven't watched the series finale yet, but whenever it is added to Disney+ I'll watch it... Historyday01 (talk) 16:10, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
