History of Qatar

[edit]

There seems to be an awful lot of disputable, dubious or downright wrong information in the sections concerning Qatar's history. Even the date of the discovery of oil is wrong by three years.

The article has been entirely rewritten since the posting of this comment. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:00, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Military adventures

[edit]

This article should be expanded to include the military engagements/deployments of the first Gulf War, and the 2011 Libyan no-fly zone. 65.93.12.101 (talk) 09:43, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Major deletions

[edit]

What's up with this edit? It looks very much like vandalism. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 09:41, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Change dating system to Common Era

[edit]

I will be changing the dating system on this article away from the biased, Christian based AD/BC to the common era system next week.  This will bring the article into alignment with secular usage such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_India.  If you object, please state why you are ok with the biased system here. Eupnevma (talk) 19:24, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Before you go changing AC BC please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style, specifically MOS:VAR. Also, instead of hundreds of discussions regarding the changes on hundreds of different talk pages, get a conversation going here: Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style. Thanks!
