Prior to the World Cup

[edit]

There seem to be 2 unsourced statements at the ends of the first and second paragraphs of this section which are subject to be removed. There is also a very confusing statement made about the start of the One-Day game which needs to be made succinct.--Raps19 (talk) 18:34, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

World cup hosts

[edit]

THUGCHILDz, whoever it is that gives credit to Sri Lanka for hosting the 1996 cup but not Zimbabwe and Kenya for hosting the 2003 cup, we are not here to push their POV. We should mention the facts as they stand. Sri Lanka hosted 4 out of 37 matches whereas Zimbabwe hosted 5 out of 54 -- too close a difference to draw the line in between. Admittedly, I had overestimated the number of matches hosted by Kenya (they hosted only 2). Either mention only the countries hosting the majority of the matches, or mention all the host countries. -- Paddu 06:16, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I was going by the official thing as it is in the ICC's website.--THUGCHILDz 06:40, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The ICC has its reasons for not mentioning Zimbabwe and Kenya. I believe they should be mentioned. There surely must be other reliable sources that do mention Zimbabwe and Kenya. GizzaChat © 11:15, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
They are mentioned in the paragraphs etc but in tables etc, we can go by the official one.--THUGCHILDz 00:33, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
