Actually, the article is replete with numerous cliches and unfounded assertions about Jews, and particularly their economic role, beginning with the medieval period. The author has cited secondary sources -- especially synthetic histories -- that in turn cite dubious and outdated sources, which are themselves open to enormous criticism. So while it is true that the article appears to conform to scholarly outlines, it cannot be considered credible in a scholarly sense. ---- a professional historian
