Converting to a disambiguation page

[edit]

Can we move this village article to Hogenakkal (village) and convert this to a dab page? Hogenakkal is more closely related to the waterfalls and the dispute, it would easier for the reader to see the links right away. Please comment. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 02:09, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, that seems fine. We can add more information about the village to the specific article while keeping "Hogenakkal" a dab page. - Max - You were saying? 03:37, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Have done the honours. Please review and fix any loose ends. - Max - You were saying? 03:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's looking good. Thanks! Ganeshk (talk) 04:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hogenakkal is in tamilnadu..indian census says so...user id ganeshk accepted it..so why does maximvsdecimvs reintroduce ganeshk's vague phrase of "in border of"..she/ he can do better by incorporating "situated IN tamilnadu near the karnataka border"...Kinggan (talk) 00:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

feel that undoing ksense's valid contention is not fairKinggan (talk) 00:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Village vs Falls

[edit]

Please provide reference why Hogenakkal village mentioned in the PMGSY site is distinct from the falls? The map co-ordinates provided point to Pennagaram which is the nearest town to Hogenakkal falls. The TN Map of Pennagaram block also does not show a 'Hogenakkal Village' --Gthorvey (talk) 17:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gthorvey, This is similar to the articles, Niagara Falls and Niagara Falls, Ontario. (Thanks Wiki San Roze for the research). The village does exist and has a school too. (Please see page 64 at this link). The falls article covers the waterfalls and this article would cover the village.
I had used Pennagaram's coordinates since I was not able find the village's coords anywhere. We can fix it once we get the actual coords. Right now it helps point to an approximate location, I felt it is better than having no map available. Pennagaram block map shows the Koothapadi sub-division that Hogenekkal village is part of. Hope that clarifies. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 23:27, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
