Hogging and sagging are more general phenomena - they describe any beam-like structure that either curves up (hogging) or curves down (sagging) under applied load.

hazegray constellation photos[edit]

It seems like the original linked #07 photo of the constellation took enough traffic from wikipedia that it is now blocked if the referrer is wikipedia. You can still easily access it from the linked article. Since the replacment (04) photo is likely to become locked out too, I'm going to remove the direct link.--J Clear 18:49, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ahh, didn't even think about a traffic block, thanks for fixing it and for the note. -- MrDolomite | Talk 19:19, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Solving hogging and sagging issues on large vessels[edit]

An attenuating wave device, such as in the Pelamis wave energy converter could be implemented to absorb the hogging and sagging of a large vessel alowing it to be built larger, while generating electricity to power it.

Questions[edit]

Is this term also used in woodworking (e.g. when you are cutting a piece of plywood the board may ?sags?). --173.183.102.95 (talk) 05:27, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
