Proposed merge with Mount Vernon Unitarian Church[edit]

There is no reason why a congration should be covered in a separate article to their church building. Most pertinent is the the congregation itself does not pass the notability requirements for organisations. I suggest combining the two leaving a redirect. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 19:03, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think having separate articles for a congregation and its building is fine and somewhat common. Which notability requirements do you think are unmet? I added some incoming links to this article just now. --MZMcBride (talk) 19:27, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Specifically Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Multiple independent sources. Right now there are two citations to connectionnewspapers.com, which is good, but not very strong, and much below what would be asked for at the deletion venue. Neither article is likely to grow much, and both are small. It's not a requirement though. — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 19:35, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. I have added a number of references from The Washington Post dating back to the 1970s. (As a minor point of clarification, Hollin Hall is just one of the buildings and not the primary church building.) I believe the added references help establish notability. Oppose. The house/plantation and the church are 2 separate issues/entities. Shearonink (talk) 19:57, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
