Looks like it was lifted straight from another web site, except for the first paragraph, which included this meaningless phrase, "... and it is very likely that some participants view life events as positive or negative, depending on the person". --JanesDaddy 08:28, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death of a child?[edit]

I recall learning that the death of a child equals the death of a spouse but I can't find a source yet. Regardless, death of a child is not listed. Anyone know the answer?--192.77.126.50 (talk) 22:34, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the death of a child of a child should be 100+. Throughout my 70 years, I've been through many of the experiences listed. The death of my 50 year old child is so bad it's off the scale.

As a person who has suffered the death of a spouse and the death of two of my children, the death of my children is as painful, if not more painful, than the death of my spouse. Death of a child, correlation[edit]

I have some information on the scale at my office; I'll check re "Death of a child." The correlation of 0.118 doesn't look right. It's not high enough to be significant. Not good.[edit]

Thats really all there is to it, but this page is not good. The information presented is unclear, as are its effects. It in no way explains why positive effects can lead to stressful illness. For that matter, it doesnt explain what the meaning of a "life change unit" is and why its bad. It certainly implies that its bad.

Though I don't like to go down this path, I don't see any reason (considering the complaints even before my own) that this article should exist. Contradiction to Zimbardo[edit]
