Iran also has positive relations with Lebanon, which in turn has good relations with the Holy See. In this diplomatic game of cat-and-mouse, the Vatican often intervenes to try to find diplomatic solutions between Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine and Iran.[citation needed]

There is also the question of inter-religious dialogue, which the Holy See has promoted among all inter-religious partners of the Middle East, including Christian-Shi'ite, Shi'ite-Sunni, and Jewish-Shi'ite dialogue.[citation needed]
