Removed an image

[edit]

I just removed an image which is purported (by Commons) to be a detail of Michelangelo's Last Judgment. If you compare that image, to the real image, it is pretty clearly not the same thing at all. It is reversed for one thing, but also the hand is clearly visible. I do not know the real provenance of this detail image, but I doubt if it is valid, and certainly isn't simply a detail of Last Judgment.--Jimbo Wales (talk) 13:48, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The picture from Witkowski is clearly an interpretation of the Michelangelo's original (as you do interpret yourself), but is not a fake, more an ambiguity that could be wanted by Michelangelo. The sketch of Witkowski was probably publish in his book Les licences de l'art chrétien, Paris, 1921 (as you must now, is inside Gilles Néret, Erotica universalis, Köln, Taschen, 1994, p. 102 ISBN 3-8228-8963-6). Homosexuality and the Hebrew BibleHomosexuality in the Hebrew Bible – Earlier today the page was moved without consensus to LGBT and the Hebrew Bible. The article was immediately moved back, but was accidentally moved to the wrong place. A bot then fixed the double redirect on the original title page, which seems to be preventing me from moving the article back to its original location. ~Adjwilley (talk) 22:57, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. No opinion on where the article should wind up if there is a proper move discussion. - 2/0 (cont.) 07:07, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
