Two Versions

[edit]

Needs a disambiguation between the faired, US model from the 80s and the naked bike the rest of the world recieved. 124.169.108.38 (talk) 08:27, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Opinions about design intent, target market, etc.

[edit]

Various blogs and forums have their opinions about who Honda wants to buy this bike and whether or not it is a copy of the Monster, and how different it is from the previous version. These assertions need to be notable, encyclopedic, and verifiable. Car and bike makers have been borrowing each other's ideas for a hundred years, and they have been drastically revising models, or starting and stopping production of a model for as long as there have been cars and bikes. It isn't that big a deal, i.e. it lacks notability and so there's no reason to go on and on about it.--Dbratland (talk) 16:48, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I wonder how similar they really are. From the outside they look quite different, but Honda obviously kept the same name and similar engine, etc, so maybe they're more similar than they appear. The second generation VTR250 (not sure about the US one) is said to be an ideal learner bike because it's naked, meaning you're less likely the break something in the (likely) event that you drop it (being a learner). They also have a very good resale value, are light and so are easy to maneuver, reliable, good fuel economy, but a reasonable amount of power for a 250 meaning you don't out grow it as quickly... That's based on personal experience though, so I don't know how you'd say that in the article without sources. Maybe just remove that part of the sentence all together. Possible copyvio on specs table

[edit]

The Specifications table, especially with the engine details (valve lift, carb jetting, etc.) looks an awful lot like a table taken directly from a factory workshop manual, in which case it is a copyright violation. See WP:COPYVIO. You can't copy the same data, sorted in the same order, with essentially the same formatting. You can take that information and reformat into an original order and presentation, preferably one such as {{Infobox motorcycle}}, but you can't just create a Wikitable version of their specs table. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 06:24, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Enorme cantidad de errores en la tabla de especificaciones

[edit]

Hola, he visto que la tabla de especificaciones de los distintos modelos de VT250 presenta gran cantidad de datos erróneos que requieren una revisión profunda. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blaz77 (talkcontribs) 18:14, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
