- Looks a bit odd with those three massive images in the lead.
- Where is the island in each of those images?
- "the San Francisco Bay" is "the" really needed?
- "in the city of" just "in" is fine.
- " San Francisco Bay area" our article appears to capitalise Area.
-
- As a parenthetical note, I'm not quite sure which capitalization is "canonical". I see it both ways; I think the only time "area" is always capitalized is if you're just saying "the Bay Area" (without qualifying it with anything). But this isn't really that big of a deal (and certainly doesn't matter here). jp×g 03:19, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
- What is USGS?
- Image captions are all fragments so no full stops.
- There should be no material which is exclusively in the lead.
- Is there any history for this island?
- "As is common on large areas of ground, grass grows on Hooks Island" unnecessary.
- "which "grows denser than the" you should be able to paraphrase this basically factual quote.
- "The S. alterniflora, originally" why The?
- "aboveground" this is typically two words.
- "surface dwellers and animals" what are "surface dwellers"? Are they not animals?
- "Surface dwellers" and "animals that lived beneath the mud" as two separate categories, but will edit.
- "70,000-acre "work area",..." etc. convert.
- "was a "resounding success"," according to whom?
- "species.[9][8]" order.
- " near-threatened[10] California clapper rail." overlinked clapper, put ref at end of seentence.
- "Island and killing them" -> killing the clapper rails.
- "the San Francisco Bay area" Area.
- "The clapper rail majestic." majestic? And no period required.
- No need to force ref width, just {{reflist}} is fine.
That's all on a quick pass, so on hold for now. The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 17:27, 5 May 2021 (UTC)

- Is "majestic" part of its name or are we just saying "lovely looking"? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:11, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- "The salt marsh harvest mouse can survive only in the vegetation of salt marshes" this isn't mentioned at all in the article, just the caption. Is it referenced anywhere? The Rambling Man (Stay alert! Control the virus! Save lives!!!!) 09:12, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
- I swear there's a source for this but I cannot find it so I will just remove that part. jp×g 20:42, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
