Pierce's Story[edit]

I understand most of the tropes in Pierce's story, but I couldn't tell - are Abed's and Troy's characters direct references to something, or more like genre-spoofs of 90s 'hood films'? Troy's character seems to closely mirror a character from "Don't be a Menace to South Central...", but I don't really have enough knowledge of 90s film to say any more on the matter. Abed's dress[edit]
