character descriptions[edit]

To call Homer "venerable" (which means "lovable", not "old"), and Hud "ruthless", are actually closer descriptions of the film's characters. The novel's characters are "grayer" and more complex. Homer is a not-particularly-well-liked-person who is approaching senility and making bad decisions, while Hud's "despicable" behavior has some justification. The Plot[edit]

I redid the plot because there was barely anything on it and it skips from the very beginning to a couple things in the middle and the epilogue.
