"Revolutionary stealth"

[edit]

"Its revolutionary stealth design included a special carbon layer that was able to reduce the radar range detection." I'd like to see this and other sweeping statements in the article justified and referenced.86.42.190.120 (talk) 13:44, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. No carbon layer in the Ho-229

[edit]

The National Air & Space Museum extensively analyzed the structure of the Ho-229--they have the sole remaining example currently in their restoration shop--with digital microscopes and sophisticated spectrometry and concluded that there is NO carbon or charcoal between the layers of plywood. (You can find it all on the NASM's dedicated Horten 229 site, in the chapter headed, "Was It Stealthy?") What seems to be charcoal/carbon is simply tiny chunks of oxidized wood. Which, indeed, you could say is the same thing as charcoal, but it does mean that the Hortens had nothing to do with it. Only the passage of time did.173.62.11.254 (talk) 00:09, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death

[edit]

Is the date of death of one of the brothers 1993 or 1994? the article mentions bother years in different parts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.101.221 (talk) 22:16, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

why emphasis on pilots?

[edit]

Shouldn't 'aircraft designers' be right in the lede sentence?? I may just fix that unless I'm missing something. Gjxj (talk) 15:07, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
