"The Magician's Code"

[edit]

I have noticed a lot of people keep changing the episode description for the second half of "The Magician's Code", removing the line that reveals Barney is getting married to Robin. No reason has been given for this, but I can only assume that people are doing it to preserve the surprise ending. Please be aware that Wikipedia has a policy on this, known as WP:SPOILERS. It clearly states the following:

It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot. Such concerns must not interfere with neutral point of view, encyclopedic tone, completeness, or any other element of article quality (for example, the lead section).

The meaning of this is quite clear. You cannot remove information from the article because you think Barney marrying Robin is a spoiler. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 08:15, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, and since someone blocked the article, I can't remove wrong information: How do you know that this is Barney's wedding? (see The Magician's Code) --79.223.3.118 (talk) 20:20, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
How do I know it's the same? Because Bays and Thomas have said that the final episode will reveal Barney's wife. Considering that they created the show, they know what they're talking about. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 23:50, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The spoiler policy also states:
When including spoilers, editors should make sure that an encyclopedic purpose is being served.
It's debatable whether the fact Barney's bride is revealed is significant enough to mention in a "short summary" of the episode. The episode's own page seems a better place for the detail - which also has the benefit of putting the spoiler where people might reasonably expect to find details of an episode. Rmsgrey (talk) 15:08, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. It's a major plot point, hinted at multiple times and covered by many sources, so the encyclopedic purpose is imho served by including it. Regards SoWhy 15:45, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy with stating that Barney's future bride is revealed (with a slight twinge for the length of the summary section). The fact Barney's bride is revealed is undoubtedly a major point about the episode. My question is why the identity of that bride is considered a vital element of a short summary of the episode? Can someone explain why Robin's name has encyclopedic value in this summary? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmsgrey (talkcontribs) 16:23, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
