Mr Altman had compliments for the Wikipedia, and it's accuracy during my conversation with him. He suggested one modification (number of awards won) which I implimented in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SusanLarson (talkcontribs) 22:13, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I spoke with Howard Altman and he declined to give out a more accurate birthday than the one listed in the article. He considers it a bit too personal. -- SusanLarson (User Talk, New talk, Contribs) 22:13, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You'd need to provide a source other than your original research to include his birthday anyway. But in any case, according to guidelines at WP:BLP, we aren't supposed to include the exact birthdates of lesser-known celebs to help protect their privacy. The reuters article explains the real reason why Altman is notable enough to be included on Wikipedia. At the moment, the impression you get from wikipedia is that he is notable because he won some awards. The real reason he ended up on wikipedia is because of his reporting on John Patrick Ennis aka Sollog. That should be made clear in the article.Arnold1 (talk) 01:34, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's the reason why "[HE] thinks" he got on Wikipedia, according to the article. He may have gotten known for his reporting on that specific subject but that's not necessarily the reason why he's on Wikipedia. But I agree it should be mentioned.

Altman ended up in Wikipedia because of his claim to fame six years ago for reporting on an American numerologist, John Patrick Ennis, thought to have predicted a large number of major events, including the 9/11 attacks. "I gained a following all over the world because of that ... I think that's why I got on Wikipedia," Altman, 47, said.
