Redirect[edit]

Hi,

Not sure why you seem to think a blank page is preferable to a redirect; could you explain? It seems a perfectly sensible use; see the list of reasons why redirects may be used at WP:REDIRECT.

If you feel the redirect shouldn't exist, then nominate the page for deletion, rather than simply leaving a blank page...

Thank you. I don't know how I blanked on that -- I meant to AfD it. Mr. P. S. Phillips (talk) 19:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine as a redirect. There are incoming links from other articles; a redirect to the main article is better than redlinks. What is wrong is that there are circular links to this redirect from the main article. I will remove those. - Fayenatic (talk) 22:08, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't just get to make that decision on your own. It's a matter for consensus, hence I've reverted your change. Personally, I disagree with you -- redlinks are better than the wrong article. Until the actual article is created, redlinks exist -- that's the purpose of them. Thanks. Mr. P. S. Phillips (talk) 03:17, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was consensus ever reached? The reason I added this redirect was because I was looking for information on Howard "Happy" Goodman, and the only place this appears in Wikipedia is under the Happy Goodman Family article. I have yet to be convinced that I misused a redirect, so my vote would be to KEEP AS REDIRECT as is the status quo. - PhilipR (talk) 21:40, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
