– The numbering is simpler and is used in WP:RS, such as Maurice Keen's essay cited at Hugh Hastings (soldier, died 1386). Keen elsewhere gives his death date as 1387. It is also used in, e.g., Richard Barber, Edward III and the Triumph of England, and Philip Caudrey, War and Society in Medieval Norfolk. Srnec (talk) 12:15, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
