The result of the proposal was Move to Hugh Watt (British politician). Mdann52 (talk) 16:05, 29 July 2012 (UTC) (non-admin)[reply]

Hugh Watt (MP)Hugh Watt (Scottish politician) – 'MP' as a dab is ambiguous, since Hugh Watt was also an MP. Schwede66 19:22, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • As suggested, I have set up the dab page. Schwede66 20:57, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to Hugh Watt (British politician). It is normal practice to disambiguate Westminster MPs, who sit in the national parliament, as "British" instead of "Scottish", "English" or "Welsh" unless further disambiguation is needed. "MP" is a terrible disambiguator in any case, "politician" is distinctly preferable. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:23, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • 'British politician' as a dab is fine by me. The reason I put up this formal request, rather than moving the article myself, is that I'm not familiar with naming conventions for Westminster MPs. Schwede66 20:47, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
