EP election[edit]

[1] could you provide a source @Norden1990: Braganza (talk) 10:56, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

you mean this? even MIEP is there and they dissolved long ago Braganza (talk) 11:48, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Braganza:, Sorry, but you should provide a source that MLP is the legal successor of SZDSZ. Mandiner article does not say it, and the creative interpretation of the text is clearly OR. Regarding MIÉP: it's not the original party, it was registered as a new party in September 2021, with the name of the abolished former parliamentary party, it is not the successor of the old party. If it were notable, it should be discussed in a new article. --Norden1990 (talk) 19:02, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Norden1990: nevertheless MIEP also registered for the 2022 election and they didn't run, it doesn't mean MLP is actually active or that they will in fact ran, Hungary has a fake party problem
for me it looks like MLP is a ghost party at best, like the article states the party basically vanished from the public Braganza (talk) 19:08, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Braganza:, I agree, that MLP is technically a ghost party since 2022. But it is still de jure existing party, and the party's membership (board or congress) has not announced its dissolution or merger with DK. With the fall of the SZDSZ, several other liberal, unsuccessful parties were created, not only the MLP (Hungarian political science called Liberal voters as "SZDSZ orphans" in the 2010s). The case of "fake party" is another matter. they were created only for budget resources in the 2014 and 2018 elections. The issue of the MLP (a former parliamentary party) and the new MIÉP (founded by some, who disagreed with the dissolution and merger to Our Homeland) is different, they are merely negligible extra-parliamentary parties. --Norden1990 (talk) 19:20, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
thats why i added "inactive" party, SDKU-DS was labelled similarly Braganza (talk) 19:21, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, you incorrectly declared that MLP merged into DK and incorrectly stated that MLP split from SZDSZ. MLP's founder Gábor Fodor was SZDSZ member until 2010. He founded MLP after three years, in 2013. It's not split. --Norden1990 (talk) 19:33, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
[2] i added "inactive" too and you removed it Braganza (talk) 05:35, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I restored that edit. Anyway, SDKU took part in the 2023 election, collecting some votes. I don't think it meets the level of the "inactive" criterion. --Norden1990 (talk) 11:05, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
SDKU was dead for a decade and was revived by new people unrelated to the old leadership Braganza (talk) 16:05, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
