Images[edit]

Please upload images to commons (if possible), and add [[Category:Hurricane Dennis]] to them. That category is linked from the article, and has a reasonable amount of content at the moment. — jdorje (talk) 22:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

tc link[edit]

It's not particularly obvious that "storm" links to tropical cyclone in the intro. Maybe we should change the text to "named tropical cyclone"? — jdorje (talk) 23:34, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, except that it may be wrong since subtropical cyclones get named too, in which case the link from "storm" is also wrong (or at least misleading). So maybe the "storm" link should just be dropped and the link should come from "hurricane". — jdorje (talk) 23:35, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

0.5 nomination[edit]

This article is considered to fall outside the scope of the Version 0.5 test release, since this version only includes a limited number of articles. It is now being held ready for renomination for a later version such as Version 1.0. Jaranda wat's sup 07:02, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Death toll[edit]

That indirect total may not be entirely accurate. It's source is a FEMA site that was made shortly after the disaster. Reports at that time were sketchy at best. We might want to find another, more recent source to back that up. The National Hurricane Center lists only the indirect toll for the US, which is twelve. -- §HurricaneERIC§ archive 18:29, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Dennis Rainfall Image[edit]

Is there a particular reason the new color filled rainfall image for Dennis was removed? I've been noticing a slow elimination of the rainfall images from Wikipedia, and Dennis was the latest victim. If there was a flaw with it, let me know. Thegreatdr 21:08, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umm, that was the result of vandalism [1]. We appreciate your work :) By the way a number of images may have been deleted from Wikipedia; as they are migrated to Commons:.--Nilfanion (talk) 21:14, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. They remain online at this site if they need to be downloaded again. Thegreatdr 21:21, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Too many images[edit]

I think this has too many images now. Its time to make galleries. Good kitty 17:17, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NWS reports[edit]

If not done so already, these should be included in the article. Hurricanehink (talk) 17:34, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is pretty impressive[edit]

Not only was Dennis the first major hurricane to strike the US prior to August since Audrey in '57, it was also the first major hurricane to strike the US in July since 1916. That's nearly 90 years without a major hurricane striking the US in July. Woodrow Wilson was president, the US was a year from entering WWI, women couldn't vote, daylight savings didn't exist and income tax was a new idea. That's pretty remarkable. Check the Best Track, you'll see that I'm right. -- HurricaneERIC - Class of '08: XVII Maius MMVIII 22:27, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
