Merge?[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was merged. It's already over a week and this should have been merged by this point before the moratorium discussion had started. Per WP:MERGE, any user may close the discussion and move forward with the merger if enough time (normally one week or more) has elapsed and there has been no discussion or if there is unanimous consent to merge. Since I want to expand 2008 PHS by this point and eventually get the season article to GA, I will go for it now. While the discussion is not unanimous, I'm going WP:IAR. This hurricane did bring some hurricane-strength winds on Clarion and Socorro islands, but ultimately this is an average non-landfalling East Pacific hurricane. 2008 PHS is also not a GA, so merging this article could help. SMB99thx my edits 22:50, 11 November 2020 (UTC)\[reply]

  • Support Two nothingburgers of storms, did nothing notable enough for an article. ~ Destroyeraa🌀 23:30, 12 November 2020 (UTC) (transcluded from original at Talk:2008 Pacific hurricane season) SMB99thx my edits 02:46, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support If only it had made landfall, this merge discussion wouldn't be here. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 13:21, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Minor impacts and nothing significant about the storm Cyclonetracker (talk) 20:36, 13 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment There is a consensus for merging. SMB99thx my edits 02:46, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I care a lot less about keeping this than most merge proposals just because of how generic the storm was and at least the season article isn't well developed. I'll merge this and delist if there's no discussion on this further by the end of the week. YE Pacific Hurricane 05:29, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment See WT:WPTC#Merge discussions getting out of hand: moratorium proposal. I think we should step away from merges for 3-5 months, and focus on creating. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 12:54, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong oppose it's a GA, but mostly it's cause of this. --HurricaneTracker495 School Chromebook (talk) 18:35, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Linking to a discussion on merges has no merit here as you aren't being specific enough on how its relevant. You have to counter the arguments given by those in favor of merging here. The facts are this storm had no meaningful impact, broke no records, and the article relies too much on primary sourcing. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 19:19, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Impacts can go in the article.ChessEric (talk · contribs) 01:55, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
