His opus 3 consists of string quartets, I believe, not sonatas? Or perhaps they exist, as so often, in two versions. (Opus 3 no. 1 was recorded as a string quartet by the Mosaїques few years back).

Here's another biographical reference the life and times of Hyacinthe Jadin. Schissel | Sound the Note! 18:38, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(it may be op. 2 that's the quartets, and op. 3 a typo.) There is an ASV recording by the Rasumovsky quartet (in addition to that Auvidis? recording?), from 1996, that is of op. 1 no. 3, op. 2 no. 1 and op. 4 no. 1, with quartets by Pierre Vachon (poss died 1802 instead of 1803 as we have- anyway acc. to LoC- which gives both years as possibilities), now that I check.

The library here (Cornell) has an edition of one quartet by H Jadin each from op 1 and 2 released in an edition by Musisca, c1989, edited by Philippe Oboussier. (Who wrote an article about them - see http://www.sfm.culture.fr/temp/ancien/includes/melang1.htm - called Une révélation musicale : les quatuors de Hyacinthe Jadin.) rehearsal pianist

[edit]

The correct german translation of "rehearsal pianist" is "Korrepetitor", not "Rezitativbegleiter" (sic). But why this german translation in an english article about a french composer, who spent all his life in France? --Rarus (talk) 18:17, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
