what is the meaning of 8/20uSec for MOV

Dear 111.125.142.10, how does this relate to the page on IEC 61000-4-5? NoJoshua (talk) 13:44, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The "1.2/50-8/20 µs" surge waveform as defined by IEC 61000-4-5 is frequently used for rating surge protection devices, such as a MOV. I've just significantly expanded this article and added this relevant mention to the text. But so far the information I added is still far less than what I wanted to see. I'm in the process of building a surge generator prototype per IEC 61000-4-5 for personal use, and the prototype already shows promising results. Thus, I plan to keep adding more information to this article in the near future after I've finished the constructing of my generator to share what I've learned this process (of course with citations, it's definitely not original research).
