Untitled[edit]

The name is correctly translated in this article but the same name has been transaalted incorrectly for all the kilo class submaries, with sindhu being interpretted as 'sea' in this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sindhughosh_%28Kilo%29_Class

Why the past tense in the very first sentence?[edit]

Additions to the explosion section[edit]

A faulty battery is believed to have triggered the initial (smaller) explosion and fire which then reached the torpedo room located directly above the battery storage space.[1][2] However, Adm. D. K. Joshi, India’s naval chief disagrees stating that the batteries were probably not at fault.[3] Mohan Guruswamy, a military analyst with the Observer Research Foundation, stated that some naval officers believe that the explosion was caused by human error after "munitions were mishandled" as the submarine was being prepared for deployment.[4]

A Kilo-class submarine can carry up to 12 torpedoes in the torpedo room with an additional six in the torpedo tubes.[5] Two types of torpedoes are used on Indian Kilo-class submarines, including the Type 53-65 anti-ship torpedo and the TEST-71 anti-submarine torpedo.[6][7] The nuclear-powered submarine Kursk was lost with all hands in August 2000 after it suffered two explosions in the torpedo room, caused by a defective hydrogen peroxide Type 65-76 "Kit" (Whale) torpedo.[8] Some versions of the Type 53-65 torpedo also use hydrogen peroxide,[9] however it is unknown whether the Indian Navy uses them.

I have moved these addition to the article here, so that we can discuss them. The first para is nothing but contradictory speculation about the accident. There is no use of that here, specially as the navy's official report on the accident will be available on completion of their accident enquiry. I do not see how the second paragraph is relevant under the explosion section (WP:OR), and i have doubt about the reliability of the sources. Sindhurakshak to be sunk again.[edit]

This article says the Sindhurakshak will be sunk again and be used for scuba training exercises. I do not care to add it now. Better to do so after it has been done or at least when a date is set. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 09:22, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
