iPhone 12 Pro Max

[edit]

Should the iPhone 12 Pro Max have its own page? Of the 4 announced phones two of them have their own page (iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12) but these other two are combined into a single page. --AlexTheMartian | Talk 18:47, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think the consensus for iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max was to keep them in one article.Abobeck11 (talk) 18:52, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The iPhone 12 mini page is already being considered for deletion/merging. I don't think size is a big enough difference to warrant a new article. Herbfur (talk) 18:57, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal

Reviving discussion from last month regarding whether the iPhone 12 Pro Max should have it's own page. Although the article has since gotten more content since the above discussion, I think it should still be merged into iPhone 12 Pro. Much of the information, including the infobox statistics and most of the second paragraph, is already present in this article. In my opinion the difference is similar to the iPhone 12 mini page which was merged recently.

Notifying @The Incognito Guy and Oferrta204: because of their contributions to the iPhone 12 Pro Max article and @KamranMackey and Abobeck11: for their contributions to the iPhone 12 Pro article. MagPlex (talk · contribs) 14:15, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I didn’t realize the iPhone 12 Pro Max article still existed. At this point it should be deleted. Abobeck11 (talk) 19:15, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Same Abobeck11, I actually didn't know it was even a separate article. I agree, it definitely needs to be merged. Herbfur (talk) 19:19, 11 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose: Unlike last year, this year the iPhone 12 Pro Max has some prominent upgrades over the regular Pro, such as a higher resolution display, 48% larger camera sensors, better camera stabilization, bigger speakers and a much larger battery. I think it should be kept. The Incognito Guy (Browsing privately) 03:19, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's still just that - an upgrade. Other than that, it's basically the exact same phone. Booyahhayoob (talk) 17:03, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you consider, the only difference between the 12 and the 12 Pro, is the more RAM and the Telephoto camera on the Pro. So if the Max is merged into the Pro, the Pro should be merged into the 12. The Incognito Guy (Browsing privately) 06:03, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Support. The 12 Pro May has not enough extra features over the 12 Pro to justify an own article.-- Maxeto0910 (talk) 23:31, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you because if it had more features and advantages to justify an own article it should be called a different phone Pondekuda46 (talk) 14:35, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

LiDAR

[edit]

The iPhone 12 Pro reportedly has a better LiDAR scanner than that found in the iPad Pro. The latter has a 3x3 matrix of 8x8 LiDAR dots, giving a resolution of 24x24 dots, of which 24x18 are usable when combined with camera data due to the 4:3 native aspect ratio of the cameras on the iPad. What I cannot find is any reference to the specs for the LiDAR sensor in the iPhone 12 Pro or Max. If anyone else can reliably source this info, it would be good to add it to the document. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.255.236.246 (talk) 11:29, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
