Proposed article deletion[edit]

This seems to be a very obscure gene. In fact, it might only be a part of a gene, since its name has the words motif and domain it it. It's hard to tell, since there is no explanatory text. I propose that this article be deleted for lack of a claim of notability and lack of context. User:Noble Sponge

Oppose article deletion[edit]

IQSEC1 is a complete gene that encodes a complex protein which contains several domains including a "Sec7 domain, a pleckstrin homology (PH)-like domain, and an incomplete IQ-motif".[1] There have been several papers published, two of which now are cited in this WP article that demonstrate the function of the protein is activation of AFR6 which in turn is involved in several important cellular processes. Therefore I contend that the article has notability and with the recent edit, context. Boghog2 (talk) 22:22, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some more text and removed the Prod template. Tim Vickers (talk) 01:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Tim, much improved! Boghog2 (talk) 08:15, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
