Not confirmed

[edit]

This still hasn't been confirmed as a single and I read somewhere that Leona doesn't want it released. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 15:18, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but confirmed as a single or not, it still meets WP:GNG for it was also nominated for a Golden Globe and has significant media coverege.--12345abcxyz20082009 (talk) 10:57, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It fails WP:NSONGS unless it wins the award, or charts. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 13:01, 16 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It has charted on the Irish charts hence it should become a page. 90.202.63.68 (talk) 22:44, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't think it should have a page unless it gets released as a single. Lots of album tracks and b-sides get in the charts these days but none of them get articles. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:57, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but they don't have similar media coverage as I See You and aren't nominated for a Golden Globe. You said "It fails WP:NSONGS unless it wins the award, or charts." It charted. If you are adamant on keeping this as a redirect, please nominate it at AfD. --12345abcxyz20082009 (talk) 12:30, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did say that, though number 47 isn't much of an achievement. AnemoneProjectors (talk) 12:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the article Speechless. It didn't chart high, but it had segnificant media coverage. --12345abcxyz20082009 (talk) 12:53, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Song Meaning

[edit]

Shouldn't the entry mention the meaning of the song title. 'I see you' is the literal translation of the standard Na'ivi greeting?62.189.100.228 (talk) 11:27, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a reliable source to back this up, then yes. It should go under "Music structure and lyrics". --12345abcxyz20082009 (talk) 11:30, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The phrase itself is used in the context of a greeting numerous times through out the film and there is even a scene in the film itself where one of the characters describes what it means. It is also defined in the Na'vi language lexicon.[[1]] It should definitely be in the main page.Cyberboy (talk) 14:24, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page name

[edit]

Should this not be named... I See You (song)? Lil-unique1 (talk) 03:46, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. TbhotchTalk C. 04:13, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's listed on the soundtrack as "I See You (Theme from Avatar)" so no. That's the full name of the song. anemoneprojectors talk 10:26, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cosmic Gate remix

[edit]

is it because there's no formal single for this that the cosmic gate remix of it hasn't been added to the page? DJRaveN4x (talk) 18:21, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it hasn't been added simply because people interested in films aren't interested in dance music, and didn't know about it. A section should definitely be added, the track was rather popular, not to mention damned good. 59.100.23.82 (talk) 10:22, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page move

[edit]

The page was moved from I See You (Theme from Avatar) (the full name of the song) to I See You (song) (not the name of the song). I cannot find the listing on WP:RM, and usually these things are discussed on the talk pages, aren't they? So can we please move it back? –anemoneprojectors13:41, 27 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ignored again. –anemoneprojectors09:51, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

  • "the lyrics reflect the story line of the film are about love, emotion and power". This sounds a bit weird. How about: "the lyrics, which reflect the story line of the film, are about love, emotion and power" ?
  • I think it would be interesting to mention that the song also charted in the US.

Background

  • "The singer said that she had known about the project for some period of time as she is very interested in film". Do you mean she's interested in films in general or that specific film?
  • No need to link James Cameron twice.

Composition and critical reception

Promotion

  • [12][8] -> [8][12] (fix the order of the references)

Track listing

  • Is this really needed? It wasn't released as a single/promotional single/apart from the album.

Just a comment on the YouTube references, I don't think they should be linked per WP:VIDEOLINK: "Linking to online videos can be acceptable if it is demonstrated that the content was posted by the copyright holder or with their permission. Videos of newscasts, television shows, films, music videos, advertisements, etc. should be considered to be copyright violations if not obviously uploaded by the copyright holder." The first one was uploaded by Leonafan51, while the second one is not even linking to the video, but to NMETV ("The video content provided on this page is generated by YouTube and consequently features user-generated content.) - Saulo Talk to Me 00:11, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
NME is fine. And I think someone sorted it already. 10:40, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Oh he just added an external link to the video. It's not a problem to use Youtube. It is 4Music and Channel 4 who made the video, and Youtube is the host site. The user who uploaded it has nothing to do with it. NME again is the host. The videos aren't self published or self created. I've selecitively used Youtube for interviews etc before and it's not been a problem.  — AARONTALK 14:01, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. Passing. - Saulo Talk to Me 01:39, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
