[edit]If this becomes a disambig, the article should go to I Want You (Marvin Gaye song) because there have been various other charting singles called I Want You (song). Kappa 20:48, 18 October 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, that should happen. (This should move to I Want You (Marvin Gaye song) and I Want You (song) move to here as a disambig.)--Greg K Nicholson 03:40, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Really notable?
[edit]While the argument can be made that the Gaye version is notable enough to deserve an article (#1 R&B song), but the Madonna version certainly isn't. Anyway, just wanted to point that out. If the article isn't deleted, then don't separate them. There is too little existing information to allow for two separate (weak) articles. Volatile 12:40, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Frankly I think this article looks better with a single sentence about the Madonna version and a link to the other page. Kappa 16:02, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
What year did he remarry? This article says before 1976 but the main Marvin Gaye seems to put it later than 1978?Andycjp 08:30, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:I Want You sample.ogg
[edit]The image File:I Want You sample.ogg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Todd Rundgren
[edit]Todd has two versions of this song in his discography. It is the ninth track on With A Twist [1] released in '97 and was also part of a Marvin Gaye medley in his Nearly Human tour in 1991 and is available on a number of now "official" bootlegs of that tour.
Hey, if Madonna gets a mention....

wrong "After The Dance" link.
[edit]wrong "After The Dance" link contained within page. It appears a Madonna fan did it. Deedubyanow (talk) 18:53, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Confusion Here
[edit]Why is Leon Ware credited as Otha Ware? I think this should be fixed because I looked at Leon Ware’s article and there is no person with the name “Otha Ware” on the article. 2601:406:4200:8E90:64E9:87F3:F6A:5CC7 (talk) 14:08, 16 September 2023 (UTC)

Intent for comprehensive editing
[edit]Hello, Marvin Gaye community! I wanted to introduce my intent for editing this article so that the single's notability is more prominent to readers and centered on its content, as opposed to lengthy descriptions of relatively unrelated covers such as Madonna's. I plan on approaching this based on the Wiki perfect articles that are also based on Gaye's singles/discography. Sgvarg07 (talk) 18:22, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
