Family and personal life
[edit]The article does not mention his family, nor any personal relationships; such information should be included on a biographical article. Does anyone know anything about either? Werdnawerdna (talk) 17:36, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Dads Army cast
[edit]the last surviving major cast member of the series following the death of Frank Williams in 2022. Caroline Dowdeswell is still alive, she appeared in 5 episodes (including the very first one) of the first series playing Pike's co-worker in the bank Janet King. is this worth mentioning? 82.7.83.113 (talk) 10:15, 16 February 2023 (UTC)
Possible copyright violations
[edit]I've removed the Bristol Live reference from the After Dad's Army section which starts with his role in Yes Minister as it seemed to have the exact wording of the article. As the Bristol Live article was published today and the information was in the Wikipedia article on the last edit before today on 21 January I'm assuming the publication may have lifted it straight from Wikipedia however I thought it best to mention it here in case that is incorrect and the information has been copied and pasted from another site. Suonii180 (talk) 14:20, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Suonii180: Bristol Post is a local newspaper with editorial oversight and owned by Reach plc, one of the largest news publishers in the UK. I would be very surprised if one of their journalists would be so lazy as to do that and that the editors let it go out. The C of E God Save the King! (talk) 17:01, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- @The C of E: The paragraph is identical word for word so if the publication is not at fault then the paragraph in the Wikipedia article has been lifted from elsewhere which points to potential copyright violation. I think the procedure is usually to tag the information for an admin to check but I don't usually deal with copyright ciolations and I'm not sure of the correct template to use. - @Suonii180: I think you'd want WP:RSN for that. The C of E God Save the King! (talk) 20:57, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- I've removed the template. The paragraph is written by numerous editors going back many years. It is far more likely that the Bristol Post have copied it from here, not vice versa. Nthep (talk) 22:12, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies, thank you for removing it. Suonii180 (talk) 22:36, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
- You don't need to apologise. It's always better to check possible copyvios out. Nthep (talk) 22:40, 5 February 2024 (UTC)
