Proposal to merge Icelandic Constitutional Assembly election, 2010 with this page[edit]

There are two pages for the same topic, with this page offering a more general approach, with a better introduction and overview of the process. However, a lot of useful content is on the other page, specific to mostly the election and the year 2010. Mosel (talk) 11:40, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't see it; I'm against that, as we always have separate articles on the elections. —Nightstallion 17:04, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe it if intrinsically true that WP always has separate articles on elections. The election article has not been well maintained. I think rather than having two mediocre and imcomplete articles we should aim to have one article of higher quality. I wanted to reply on this one point but request that further discussion happen in the other section please. Robert Brockway (talk) 03:19, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I came here to propose exactly this merger. Mosel specifies exactly the reasons that I believe this merger should go ahead. Since the articles are currently separate it follows that the merger was reversed at some point. Robert Brockway (talk) 02:48, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have tracked down what happened after the merge. After Mosul performed the merger after several weeks of seeking concensus (in which no one commented), the merge was performed on Feb 7, 2011. On March 31, 2011 Nightstallion reverted the merge. Robert Brockway (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to merge Icelandic Constitutional Assembly election, 2010 with this page (again)[edit]

I propose that Icelandic Constitutional Assembly election, 2010 be merged with this page. The information on this page and Icelandic Constitutional Assembly election, 2010 substantially overlap. While Icelandic Constitutional Assembly election, 2010 contains more information it reads as if it has not been kept current and this is supported by the edit history with it having had no substantive edits since July 2011 (as of time of writing). Oppose As Nightstallion states, it's standard for elections to have their own individual article. Number 57 10:36, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
