Small curiousity

[edit]

In the full picture lower down in the article, the to-be Prime Minister Hatoyama and Ozawa are holding up a small red object between them. I haven't been able to identify what it is and what it signifies. A rose? Seems too big. I did find a proprietary but better picture of the event -- available through the footnote to the upper (Hatoyama and red object cropped out) picture, now -- but no red object there. Any clarifying report available? Is it held in front of a particular result on the board behind? (Sorry, I have no Japanese.) Cheers. Swliv (talk) 17:39, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's an imitation rose. The photograph is a scene when the election result is counted. When someone wins by the election, the imitation red flower is pasted on the name of him written in candidate's list.--Mimosa5 (talk) 15:37, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wife and divorce

[edit]

An article in The Japan Times dated 15 June 2012 (see link below) states that Ozawa's wife divorced him sometime after the 11 March 2011 earthquake. This information could possibly be added to this article, but the Japan Times report unfortunately doesn't say when they married. --DAJF (talk) 12:06, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
