Locked[edit]

It seems some people think it amusing to add their own critiques to this article; accordingly, the article is now semi-protected for a month. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 06:14, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

Incase anyone wants to add this information... The album was co-produced by Rhys Fulber of Front Line Assembly/Delerium/Fear Factory etc etc Fame. It was mastered by Greg Reely in Vancouver. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaredsmart (talkcontribs) 19:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I've got some more information about the album but i'm unable to edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaredsmart (talkcontribs) 19:26, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should be able to add this on the 17th unless anyone else does it in the meantime. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 13:31, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just for you guys, Lights Out is totally, 100% confirmed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.147.139.93 (talk) 11:05, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Never wanted to dance page[edit]

so that was deleted before the single/ep was even released under the premise that it did not chart. which doesn't make any sense - if it has not been released yet OF COURSE it didn't chart. if pages about things to come are not allowed, then the entire 'if' page shouldn't even exist for another month. but anyways, now MSI is claming in a myspace bulletin that, "'Never Wanted To Dance' is the Number One CD Single on the Billboard Top Singles Chart."

so now it meets the expectations that it didn't even fail in the first place. if anyone is good at bringing pages back from the dead, by all means go ahead.

the bulletin was later blogged on their myspace page titled "Thank you, we’re sorry, auf wiedersehen, goodnight... "

Track listings[edit]

There are several different versions of this release, and most of them have several songs in common. My hope was to reduce and condense this redundant information, however most people apparently disagreed and reverted my edits. For the Censored version (only having one bonus track), something similar to Absolution would work well. On the Japanese version of Absolution there is an additional song between tracks 12 and 13, much like "Uncle" for If. For the UK version of If we could implement something similar to the deluxe edition bonus tracks on Still Searching where the first 13 songs on both versions are the exact same and thus removed. Also, maybe if anyone was really feeling up for it, he could create something similar to the Zeitgeist alternate versions. Fezmar9 (talk) 16:22, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uppercase or lowercase?[edit]

I know thea this album is referred to here as If, but the cover art, as well as the spines and the back end of the album refer to it as if. Which one should we call it? Lord Weasel (talk) 04:43, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums#Capitalization. It does not matter what the cover art displays, the first letter of a title is always capitalized when written. Fezmar9 (talk) 04:11, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
According to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks), titles with a lowercase letter is acceptable in the articles. "if" is a unique name for albums, and according to the wikiproject album's rules in the title always will be used italics (+ wikify, if it needed) → if Therefore, the album will always stand out from others if. --91.78.98.56 (talk) 00:56, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, you are correct. The rule applies only if there is a capital letter. --91.78.98.56 (talk) 01:05, 29 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I inserted the {{lowercase title}} template on the main page, as per this chat and Wikipedia naming conventions. Feel free to change it back if that's a no-no for album titles. Fuebar (talk) 00:03, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jhonen Vasquez?[edit]

For some reason it has Johnen included on this album, while his video contribution was to the song on You'll Rebel To Anything. This would also need a change to the template on Jhonen Vasquez Xenosentience (talk) 19:19, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did it myself. Jhonen Vasquez template updated and music video credit removed from If page.Xenosentience (talk) 19:25, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
