Historical apportionment

[edit]

It would be nice to get some details as to the area this and all the other districts covered over the years. Does anyone have a source of maps or descriptions of the Illinois congressional districts prior to 2003? --Dual Freq 05:21, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"2021 redistricting" Table

[edit]

The number column is not explained. I used https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Illinois and discovered that the number in the table is 1 fewer than double the county's rank in alphabetical order. For example, the first row says 7, which is 1 fewer than double 4, and is for the fourth county in alphabetical order. It is meaningless to say where the countries rank in alphabetical order. It is also meaningless and maybe misleading to give the population of counties when most of the people in the county are not in this district. If anybody knows how many people in the district are in each county, that would be useful. EvanJ35 (talk) 17:09, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
